U.S. Leaves Pregnant Christian to Hang !

Once again, Islam does again what it's always done, in spite of saying it's a peaceful, compassionate religion.  NOT!  I think most of you have already heard the terrible news that a Sudanese judge sentenced a pregnant Christian woman to hang for apostasy after she refused to convert to Islam, despite appeals by Western embassies for the so-called compassion and respect religious freedom.

Here's a bit of background on the case. Born to a Muslim father, the woman was convicted under the Islamic sharia law that has been in force in Sudan since 1983 and outlaws conversions on pain of death. Meriam Yahia Ibrahim, 27, a medical doctor, is eight months pregnant and married to a Christian national from southern Sudan, Daniel Wani, who became an American citizen in 2005. You'll remember that South Sudan was separated from Sudan in 2011 with lots of the usual raping, murdering and pillaging. Sudan is widely perceived as one of the most corrupt countries in the world, ranked 174th for its performance by Transparency International.

''We gave you three days to recant but you insist on not returning to Islam,'' shouted the judge, not taking into the count that Meriam's Muslim father deserted her mother and her when she was just only six years old so her Ethiopian Christian mother brought her up, logically, in the Orthodox Christian faith. ''I sentence you to be hanged,'' Judge Abbas Al-Khalifa said to her, and adding insult to injury he addressed her by her deadshit father's Muslim name. ''I also sentence you to 100 lashes for adultery!'' This part is the height of Islamic stupidity. You see under Sudan's interpretation of sharia, a Muslim woman cannot marry a non-Muslim man and any such relationship is regarded as adulterous.

Ms Ibrahim reacted without emotion when Abbas delivered the verdict at a court in Khartoum. She calmly told the judge: ''I am a Christian and I never committed apostasy.''  About 100 people, including Western embassy representatives, were in the court to hear the ludicrous sentence. They issued a statement saying, ''We call upon the government of Sudan to respect the right to freedom of religion, including one's right to change one's faith or beliefs. That right is included in Sudan's 2005 interim constitution as well as in human rights law.''

Presently, Meriam is clinging to her faith, even though her country has condemned her and her husband's country - the U.S. - has thus far abandoned her to an unjust death sentence. Her attorney, Osman Mubarak, said in last Sunday's New York radio interview that his client still has not received any firm assistance from the U.S. government beyond Obama's usual empty declarations, even after the case received a huge amount of international media attention.

The Way I See It.....there is some hope that this sentence will be corrected on appeal. One of Ms Ibrahim's lawyers, Mohanad Mustafa, told AFP following the sentence that the defence will first go to the appeals court, then the supreme court and, if necessary, to the Constitutional Court because he believes the criminal code prohibition against apostasy violates the constitution. Mubarak added that the U.S. has not provided his client any firm assistance other than sending a monitor to the latest court case.

Another twist on this shameful Islamic nonsense, was the revelation what will happen to her son that will be born before she is killed. Mubarak explained the child will go to Ibrahim's Muslim father and not to her husband Daniel. Also, because Wani is a Christian, that child will be named with her deadshit father's name, not with Daniel's name. Mabarak said he believes the U.S. will ultimatwely step in: ''They will not allow their citizens to stay in this bad situation.''  Last week, multiple U.S. lawmakers pressed President Obama to grant Meriam asylum. Only time will tell.
